Skopje
The capital city of North Macedonia is the usual start of every tour there. Largest and most important, Skopje combines old Ottoman heritage with modern lifestyle. The city is nicknamed "Las Vegas on the Balkans" due to the numerous brand-new buildings and monuments with an ancient look and style — you will love it or hate it, but definitely will not stay neutral. Not far from the city is Matka Canyon, a beautiful artificial lake offering different activities for a half-day trip.

Ohrid
The most beautiful place in North Macedonia and one of the most beautiful in the Balkans. Ohrid — the lake and the city — are designated by UNESCO as a Natural and Cultural World Heritage site. Both have fascinating history and beauty. The Old Town of Ohrid is small, but full of amazing stories at every step. On the very end of the shore, on a small edge of a cliff, is situated the stunning late-medieval church of St. Kaneo. Every hard step to get there is well worth it. One hour's drive from Ohrid is the medieval monastery of St. Naum, a very visited place by Christians and Muslims alike.
